January 24th, 2007 - Alpha's Peacock.
Alpha cashed his shares and got a nice sum of money. We've been pestering him to buy a house for who knows how long.
Its been a long running joke that he will always opt to buy some sort of toy rather then save to buy a home. This christmas he caught a lot of flak for buying a high defintion TV.
He started taking crap from us when he made mention that he was going to upgrade his computer, and buy a new bed. I'm all for buying a new bed, but he had people believing that he bought a 3200 Panasonic massage chair. That actually made Omega happy because he decided he wanted to see Alpha spend all his money on frivilous items.
The symbol that embodies this frivilous behaviour has been the running joke that Alpha is buying a peacock. Something that he could drag around with a leash. We made up a whole bunch of stories about this peacock. How it was miserable yet Alpha would spoil it rotten eventhough it hated him and would attempt to peck his eyes out any chance it got.
Omega has this vision of Alpha playing World of Warcraft while holding the peacock and petting it. The whole time its trying squirm free but only succeeds in insuring that Alpha squeezes him tighter. Alpha added that he would be wearing a helmet and oven mitts which were protecting him from its attempts to peck his eyes out.
We made a joke that since he bought a bed for himself he may as well buy a minature bed for the peacock. Complete with silk sheets and a feather pillow. To honour that scenario. I drew a picture of the peacock being forced into its bed.
